Tithebarn reward Welsh Black store cattle


Tithebarn, c/o Mr Rheinallt Williams Regional Manager within Wales, has continued to support the Welsh Black cattle store and pedigree breeding sales in 2010. This included rewarding the highest priced animals at the Llandovery Store Sale on Friday 21 May 2010.

A £15 Tithebarn voucher was awarded to Mr D Watkins, Dolauhirion, Llandovery for the highest priced Pair of Steers. The two pedigree steers, weighing 490kgs/head at 19 and 22 months of age, were sold for £800/head. The highest priced single steer was sold for £640. The 22 month pedigree steer weighed 410kgs and was awarded a £15 Tithebarn voucher for owner Mr A Watson, Cwmbargoed, Cynghordy, Carmarthenshire. The highest priced heifers were a pair of 2 year old heifers weighing 440kgs which were sold for £660/head. They were bred and sold by Messrs W Jones & Co, Ysytradffin, Rhandirmwyn who will receive a £15 Tithebarn voucher. A £10 Tithebarn voucher for the highest priced animal, pence per kilo, was awarded to Mr A Watson, Cwmbargoed, Cynghordy, Carmarthenshire on the sale of 2 steers weighing 355kgs/head at 15 and 13 months of age and selling for £590/head, producing £1.66 pence per kilo. 20 Welsh Black store cattle were sold at the sale. The next Welsh Black store sales will be held on Friday 17 September at Dolgellau and Friday 22 October at Llandovery.
