Royal Welsh Spring Fair

The Welsh Black Cattle Society attended the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’s Spring Fair for 2017, which took place on 20th & 21st May.

The Society’s promotional, informative stand was prepared by the new Young Member Ambassador, Angharad Davies from Brynglas, Ponterwyd, Aberystwyth.  Angharad was helped by her family, Will and Meinir Davies who established the ‘Coedllys Herd’ of Welsh Black cattle.  Also attending was home-bred Coedllys Avril, born 2012, who attracted much attention.

Angharad also organised a raffle, for 2 very popular pups from TV’s Paw Patrol, in aid of Cancer Research and the Society.

The Spring Festival again included classes for Traditional, Rare and Native breeds of cattle.  Welsh Black Cattle Society member Mrs Lyn Foxwell’s  Rhyddid Ruby with her calf Rhyddid Wena won a 1st in the cow and calf class, and Reserve Champion in Traditional Native breed, with a second prize in the ‘Bull any age’ class.
